My Favorite Digital Transformation Resources for Leaders

Jen Swanson of Tuckpoint Advisory Group's Favorite Digital Transformation Resources for Leaders

Digital Transformation is a marathon, not a sprint. And it’s not uncommon for leaders to feel a little stuck, uninspired, or perplexed along the way. Sometimes one light-bulb moment is enough to drive momentum and reignite the process. This roundup of digital transformation resources was created with that in mind, and is meant to infuse new energy into your work.

I tend to lean toward pragmatic resources that offer tangible, real-world application, so I’ve included a few perennial favorites on this list, as well as some new perspectives that I’ve been paying attention to over the past year.

A Curated Collection of Digital Transformation Resources for Leaders

Mind the ProducT:

I find MTP to be the most comprehensive product resource out there. It’s not perfect, but it tends to be my first stop when I’m searching for content. The newsletter is a helpful digest of news, articles, and blog posts, and the podcast – The Product Experience – is a good listen for people working in product, design, and engineering. They host excellent thought-leadership conferences (I’ve attended for the past two years), and also have local meetups called ProductTank that connect people doing product work in the area.

Product Management TodaY:

This is a curated roundup of articles from around the web, and one I’m fond of for surfacing new voices in product management. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading the big and loud voices in product, but there’s something to be said for hearing fresh ideas from bright thinkers on the rise.

Melissa Perri:

I love Melissa’s ability to offer very practical, actionable thinking in her work. Her book, Escaping the BuildTrap, is still one of my faves, especially as it relates to large enterprises. Every time I share it with a team they’re able to see themselves in it. Not much of a reader? Check out her podcast, Product Thinking

Ant MurphY:

I’ve been more engaged with his work in the last year and really like the POV, tools, and fuss-free wisdom he shares for founders and product folks.

Janice Fraser:

I read her book Further Faster with Far Less Drama and also saw her speak at the 2023 Mind the Product Conference. You’ll enjoy her work if you appreciate candor and a pragmatic approach to product leadership.

Greg Satell:

I’m currently reading his book, Cascades, and am really loving it. It’s centered around driving change, which is critical to achieving a successful transformation.

Teresa Torres:

Her book, Continuous Discovery Habits, has been one of my go-tos. It's super practical and great for anyone who has started a product practice and needs help cultivating discovery habits. It’s also easy to bite off in little chunks.

What other digital transformation resources would you add to this list? Send me a note so I can check it out!
